The Liverpool Film Festival has been created to stretch the possibilities of showcasing unheard talent in the North of England. Liverpool was awarded the European Cultural Capital City back in 2008. It is a thriving destination for audiences and filmmakers. We aim to showcase the best of the north. We understand and love the quality of story telling from that part of the country and wish for the whole world to see it. We also want to bring inspiration to the city that has inspired so many of us around the world for years. Liverpool is a remarkable city filled with remarkable people and we cannot wait to be there and take their filmmakers careers to the next level!
Following on from the success of our partner festival London Lift-Off, Liverpool aims to be one of the most anticipated of all Liverpool Film Festivals.
Liverpool Lift-Off is still open for entries. We take all submissions through withoutabox and are offering to all that submit an option to receive extensive feedback and grades on every aspect of your work, regardless of selection. It is something that makes us unique from other festivals as we are more than aware of the raw talent out there that is willing to learn but who may not be able to afford, sometimes, extortionate film school fees.
Deadline for the festival is mid February with the first round of judgement stages starting at the beginning of January. There will be extensions on the deadline date with submission fees hitting an airline pricing policy.
The standard submission fees are as follows:-
Shorts $20. Features $40. With the same structure for scripts and submitted animations.
Winners of Liverpool Lift-Off will have Official Selections at Los Angeles and London Lift-Off's in 2013 and Las Vegas Lift-Off in 2014. Click the button below to send us your film. We accept shorts, animations, features, documentaries and scripts. Join the fastest growing film festival in the world, submit today!!!
